Peter (a known card counter) was a patron at Greektown Casino in Downtown Detroit, playing blackjack at a table which had two other players. One of the other players was seated at “first base” and playing betting spots #1 and #2. A second player, who was using a cell phone, was in the middle of the table and playing betting spot #3. Peter was seated at “third base” and playing betting spots #5 and #6. A new hand commenced and the players each placed two wagers in each betting spot that they were playing with one of each pair of wagers being a “bonus wager” that would pay a player if he drew a pair. The dealer then dealt two cards to each player and two cards to herself with the second card being a “hole” card that was not visible to the players. None of the players had pairs so the “bonus” bets were taken by the dealer. At this point, the dealer’s “up” card was a 2 and the player at first base had hands totaling 12 and 20. The player in the middle had a hand totaling 8. Peter had hands totaling 18 and 12. The dealer then pointed to the first hand of the player at first base and he requested a “hit.” The dealer then dealt to that player a face card which gave him 22 and a “bust.” The dealer then pointed to the second hand of the player at first base and he declined a “hit.” The dealer then pointed to the hand of the player at betting spot #3 and he requested a “hit” by taping the table with a finger. The dealer then dealt to that player a three which raised his total to 11. The player then again tapped the table with a finger and the dealer dealt this player another three which gave him 14. As this prior card came to rest this player again motioned with his hand but only above the table and then, as the dealer started to draw another card vigorously waived off any further card before the next card was exposed. Notwithstanding the waive off the dealer proceeded to expose a face card and give it to the player. The casino’s position was, the face card resulted in this player going bust with a 24. The player immediately claimed that he had been dealt the face card by mistake and the game was halted. As of March 6, 2010, the Greektown Casino’s rules for the game of blackjack which were formally approved by the Michigan Gaming Control Board provided that: “A Player chooses the hit option by making a scratching motion on the table with his hand. The stand motion is made by waving the hand (palm down) on the 12 table in a side-to-side motion.” According to these rules, the player in question had not requested a hit. As a result, the card offered to such player had been dealt in error. In respect a card dealt in error the Greektown Casino’s rules for the game of blackjack which were formally approved by the Michigan Gaming Control Board provided that: “After the initial two cards have been dealt to each player and a card is drawn in error and exposed to the player, such card will be dealt to the remaining players or dealer (in order) as though it were the next card from the shoe. Any players refusing to accept such card shall not receive any additional cards during that round. If all the players refuse the card and the dealer cannot use it, the card shall be burned. It will not become the first card of the next hand.” At this point in the game the dealer’s hole card was a 10 and therefore with the 2, her point total was 12. If had the game continued according to the approved rules the face card dealt in error would have been offered to Peter and refused by him because to take it would have exceeded 21 on either of his hands. Had the game continued according to the approved rules the face card dealt in error would have been a card the dealer would have had to use, after its rejection by Peter, and it would have busted the dealer. At this point pit boss, Lee Howes, in his capacity as a supervisor came to the table and ordered a review by security of the dealing of the hand at issue. With its highly sensitive replay equipment, the security department’s review would have shown that the player had not requested a hit and had commenced waiving off the card before it was exposed and the card, therefore, was dealt in error. At this time Howes would also have known that if he applied the controlling rule for the card dealt in error the house would lose the hand. Notwithstanding this, Howes ruled that the face card at issue had been properly dealt and that game should proceed. Peter objected and took the position that the hand should be at least declared dead due to the irregular events that had occurred and that he should be permitted the option of withdrawing his bets.How do you think the casino handled this? Poker Room Someone in this thread asked to be updated if they get poker here, I notice they have added a poker room looked like 6 tables maybe, of course they are E tables no live dealers I think they are saying it is Texas Hold Em. Blackjack: 8D H17 NS DA2 DAS RSA 84-88% pen with 10-300, 15-300 (I think), 25-500 limits. or 6D (same rules as above) with 79-84% pen 50/1000. Spanish 21: 6D H17 LS DA2 DAS RSA DDR ~84% pen 10-300 (not sure if they run bigger games) I saw between 12 and 20 games running depending on how busy it is. No backbetting, but wonging is fairly easy. Didn't get any heat wonging in and spreading 10-120, naturally. Of the 3 Detroit casinos, MGM Grand Detroit is the best blackjack game for AP play- but that's not saying much at all. Wonging is pretty easy during mornings and weekday afternoons, but the place gets too busy at night for wonging to be a reliable tactic to use. Also, there's a couple of Double Exposure tables that you shouldn't touch- double down on only 10 and 11. I don't remember the other rules, but suffice to say just stay away and play another game. I only walked past the 50/1000 game briefly so I might be wrong on the pen. Also I didn't see ask specifically if it was S17 so you must be right on that too. However, pen on the 8 deck game was almost always 1 deck cut off. Sometimes up to 1.25, but I only saw more than 1.25 once in 15 hours of play. The Bellagio
The Bellagio has without a doubt the most player-friendly rules in Vegas. First of all, the house edge-boosting 6-5 payout single deck games are not to be found here. The minimum game is dealt from six decks, making use of a card counting system difficult.
However, all of the other rules are solidly in the players favor. The dealer stands on a soft 17 and the player is allowed to surrender, re-split aces and double down after splitting. The house edge on this game is only .28 percent, significantly lower than the standard.
For the suckers out there, the Bellagio also offers a minimum game in which the dealer hits on a soft 17 and the house edge is .48 percent. This is attractive for some low-stakes players, but we suggest you stick to the minimum table. If you’re interested in winning at blackjack , it’s a good place to do it.

Card Counting at MGM Grand in Las Vegas
Card counting conditions are better at MGM than at most other places in Las Vegas. One great aspect of playing blackjack at MGM is that the casino is huge and is usually packed, especially on weekends. This gives surveillance and the pit crew a lot of action to watch over. There are plenty of high rollers in the S17 area, so it’s easy to blend in there. The double deck game at MGM Grand is really good for a solo card counter, but it’s watched pretty closely. Be sure to keep your sessions short and use some decent cover.
For card counting teams, you’ll find that entering mid-shoe on the 6 deck tables is pretty easy and gets very little hassle. Some casinos don’t allow mid-shoe entry while others impose a mid-shoe entry max bet of 0 or so (New York, New York and Planet Hollywood come to mind). This isn’t the case at MGM, so go ahead and throw those yellow chips out there!
